Burberry fashion show set for debut in 3D

Gearing up for London’s fashion week fashion house Burberry, has announced its plans to début its fall/winter 2010/2011 women’s line on February 23rd, through live 3-D video streaming in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Dubai, and Tokyo.

Through invite only, live from The Chelsea College of Art, live screenings of the show will stream utilizing SKY Television’s 3-D technology. Around the world New York’s Skylight studios, Paris’ Colette, Dubai’s The Address, Tokyo’s La Fabrique for ‘’Burberry Night’’, and an event in Los Angeles hosted by The Daily Beast are all set to host screenings of the 3-D spectacular. Burberry will stream the show on its website seen here.

Backstage at Paris’ Mens Fashion Week yesterday, R&B Singer Chris Brown, who has appeared in recent news for battering his girlfriend, posed along side bloody-face designer, Jean Paul Gaultier.

Following the theme of boxing, Gaultier’s runway this season featured fake cuts, blood and bruised faces.


Project Runway goes Hi-Tech with HP

Set for its début tomorrow, Project Runway contestants ditch their traditional sketch pads for HP Touchsmart PC’s and notebooks. With the 24-hour countdown to the 7th season of Project Runway underway, we felt it only necessary to mention this innovation to the competition.

As designers sketch using HP’s TM2 swiveling tablet, we are eager to see what technology will bring to the competition.

Last night on VH1’s Frank the Entertainer, Jessica, the wild child of the group, got sent home packing. But of course, it wouldn’t be of importance to us, if it wasnt for her amazing sense of style. We call Jessica’s style, Hippie chic infused with carefree bohemian. Headbands, leggings and oversized sweat coats, were our favorites of the recent celebreality star. She was of course, the best girl on the show, not just for her style, but for her amazing zest for life.

V Magazine to change body image issue in fashion

Size 2 has always been the standard for fashion, but everyone knows that RagTrade stands on the opposite site of the spectrum of the body size anomoly. V magazine’s fourthcoming issue will highlight the bold, big and beautiful. Set to change the beauty standard of the smaller the better, the magazine will instead feature plus size models in bathing suits and scantily clad garments.

So, what where you doing at 11am today? Most likely you were not at the Promenade lusting over Derek Lam’s Spring 2010 Collection as part of Mercedes Benz Fashion week.

Just when we’ve faced the harsh reality of having to do away with our jumpers and gladiator sandals, here comes fashion week showcasing next springs trends. 

Looks like the high-waisted era, will still be going strong next spring, as Lams runway was full of high waisted shorts, skirts and coolocks. Mixing patterns and wearing sequins in the daytime all seem to be a part of the “fabric” of Lam’s Spring collection.

Leave us a comment. Has Lams use of unconventional patterns and outrageously high waisted skirts gone too far? Will the trend be played out by then.

Its like a once in a lifetime moment; getting struck by lightning, winning the lotto.. but what if we told you, it could happen twice. This amazing news has floored us here at the Rag Trade. Get this, Sex and the City Movie 2 is set for debut this Spring 2010. Yes, sounds crazy right. With Miranda, Carrie and gang debuting their film from the HBO series last year, it sounds insane that the crew has already began taping the sequel.

 

Well, its what the people want right? The people have spoken all around the world, with signs and whistles, chanting “Give us Car-rie”

 

If you thought your mouth watered uncontrollably at the fashions of the original Sex and the City Movie, grab a rag and a bucket, for the amazing style we’re anticipating for Sex and the City Movie 2.
